Hapag Lloyd

The Hanseatic is the most environmentally friendly cruise ship ever built, offering a degree of luxury unmatched in Expedition cruising. Carrying no more than 180 passengers she is the most luxurious adventure ship in the world. Shallow draught and the highest ice class rating for passenger ships enable the Hanseatic to travel routes which remain impossible for other ships.
Only the Hanseatic can offer the luxury of identical large outside cabins, complete with TV’s and VCR’s and in-room internet, observation lounges, lecture hall, boutique, beauty salon, windowed restaurants and health and fitness club complete with glass-enclosed jacuzzi overlooking the spectacular scenery. At the same time she maintains an expeditionary atmosphere with renowned lecturers presenting daily lectures and evening recaps.
When cruising to Polar regions such as Antarctica and the Arctic, she is the only ship providing all-weather clothing including wellington boots and unique fitout and washdown rooms for shore excursions. The only special clothing required is a pair of waterproof overpants, hats, gloves and socks. No need to worry about packing loads of winter clothing as the ship is delightfully airconditioned and casual clothing is the order of the day.
Cruise Collection hosted departures to the Antarctic, Arctic and Amazon are on voyages which are bilingual with announcements, lectures, news sheets and menus in both English and German.
Cruise Collection have operated annual departures to the Antarctic on the Hanseatic since 1996 as well as departures to the Arctic and Amazon since 2005. Our 2009 Antarctic Adventure Tour will be hosted by Cruise Collection General Manager, Lyn Adrian, who has hosted 10 annual excursions to Antarctica and has also worked on board as an Expedition Leader.
ANTARCTIC ADVENTURE ON HANSEATIC Feb 09
23 days departing 12 February 2009, hosted by Lyn Adrian
Cruise Collection announce an exciting new itinerary on our 12th Antarctic Adventure in 2009.
On this voyage the HANSEATIC will dare to go beyond its own geographic limits. For the first time, it will attempt to pass the legendary Antarctic Circle, penetrating more deeply into the endless white of the seventh Continent than ever before.
This unique voyage will also spend a full 13 days in the sheltered waters of the Antarctic Peninsula area with its spectacular scenery and wildlife with only three days sea travel required from Ushuaia and return.
We only have one suite available for sale on our Hosted Antarctic Adventure Tour in February 2009 and have a lady wishing to share this suite. However we need immediate expressions of interest as this unsold suite will be released in September 2008.
